Side Story, New Character
So, yay. First update in forever.
In the time i've been away from mah project, I deemed that the existance of other character may encourage the growth of my one character. excellant.
This focus is on Satos, the forest dweller that ran from the forest and is lost in the post apoctalyptic world.
In the next post, probably tonight or tommorw, i'l rant on what needs to be addressed to explain this, the wanders an caravans, the lost bunkers, the nomads, and a little more about the forest dwellers from an outsider's perspective.
also the incident defore when he almost starved. i'm getting to the point now where i'm almost writing excerpts. neat.

URIUS AND THE WOMAN IN THE BUNKER
========================================
========================================
THEME: Sufjan Stevens - "You are the Rake"
Satos gets in because he falls in to the bunker a ways off from the city and gets trapped there for a month, and eventfully makes his way over to where they are excavating. Likely he was chase or thrown into the hole by nomads.
He nearly stops he fall twice on the way down but both times he loses his grip. The first he caught a grip relatively close to surface and saw him. They threw rocks at him until he lost his grip.
He’s lucky and has his fall broken. Even luckier, he escapes with just an injury to his side and shoulder from the fall, but several others from being beaten by the nomads. Once he awakes he realized he was just why he was lucky. He had landed on the less fortunate people that they had thrown down earlier.
His nose is broken perhaps along with a rib or two as well. In addition he has a black eye and many bruises because of the raiders who attacked him and threw him down.
He crawls away out of the light and into the darkness, desperate to avoid any further harm if they notice that he's still alive. Scared in the dark, he bumps into flesh and cloth and is knocked down. He backs away, unable to get back up, attempts to push and crawl away back towards the bodies. He starts to screams, though it comes out a hoarse squeak, even though is unbearably painful.
He manages to back into the light sees the figure wrapped in scarps of cloth. It’s a woman. The left side of her face is completely mangled and her cheek is smashed in, probably from the fall. She looks old. But likely she looks older than she really is.
She would have buried the people, but realizing they were going to throw down more, and it was them who save her, she left them. Two it had help survive, but their injuries were still too extensive to live, and both died a day and two later after the fall.
A dry, torn had reaches out and covers his mouth, hushing him. It takes him a few moments to calm down, despite knowing she meant him no harm. She starts speaking but he has a hard time understanding her words. They’re strange, similar to his own, but too much to understand in the midst of the pain.
He shakes his head and he begins small tiny sobs...it the first time he's met someone in a few months with out the intention of killing or hurting him up seeing him...someone who wants to help him, and he knows she's seen the marks the malicious tree left on him. But she's not scared at all. It had been so long...so long since anyone had treated him with kind eyes, that neither wanted to hurt or use him. A great ache in him calmed for a moment, and followed by burst homesickness. He caught a sob in his throat. It had been so long...
Bruised and beaten he tries to touch her shoulder in gratitude but passes out. A day later he awakens. His chest feels a little better and it's easier to breath.
-
She is confused by his reaction. He had smile weakly at her when he saw her face, like he was seeing an old friend. She didn't know this man.
-
He panics and remembers what had transpired, and frantically looks around for the woman. Her hand is on his shoulder before he knew it and firmly pushes him back down. He obeys her and calms himself again, lying back down on a make shift bed of boards and the clothes of those who hadn't survived the fall. They aren't too far from the bodies, for the need of the light. The smell stings his nose.
He looks back at her, feeling her relief and happiness, probably because he'd woken up. Tears well up in his eyes and he grabs her arm with his good one, stopping her from what she was doing. He’s figure out why she probably saved him, after looking at the other people, but it doesn't stop the happiness from filling him to the brim. She at first looks at him confusedly but a smile comes over face ask he begin painful little hiccupping sobs. He clutches tightly at the fabric of her shirt, scared to left go. She doesn't know why he's crying, but she smiles at him gently pulls him close, the grown man sobbing like a little boy, gently hold him to her chest, careful not to touch his wounds too much. He feels a hand gently stroke the back of his head, lightly combing her hand through his hair, matted with blood and sweat.
She doesn't hold him long and makes him lie down again, and begins to gently prod his chest, checking his wounds. He winces violently but she smiles and continues. It was only when she poked a few of ribs on his right side, which weren't broken, but still bruised pretty badly. He over looks himself and realizes most of his wounds have been bandaged.
He savors the motherly touches on his ribs, remembering when his mother tended to him after falling from one of the greater trees. The feeling of hers of her touch and starts to doze again when a light smack the head stops him, and she scolding him. She reaches out and points at his arm, which has been dislocated. He winces as she touches it and pales as he realizes why she is. She needs to pop it back into place. He looks at and then backs at her with a sad face and then hangs his defeated. It had to be done...
A day or two alter and he is well enough to walk around and see exactly where he is. There are no bodies, which were starting to smell really bad. The woman is nowhere in sight. Carefully, he begins wandering in the dark looking for her. He sense string of sadness and begins following it. It’s night and difficult enough to see and cold. Unable to navigate, he goes back to the bed and tries to sleep. It’s difficult, and smell is progressively worse.
He dreams.
The next day he wakes with a bright light in his eyes. It’s the refracted light off of a sheet of metal that had been buried in the fall area. The woman was current try to further unearth it hopes of lighting the cave more.

I am toying with the idea of changing Satos' name to Urius. Both fit his character very well. It could be that he is someway in need of changing his name, but it is becoming more and more likely that I will be changing his name. It is simply too difficult to remember, hard to use and I slip to often from it into satoSHI and Urius. It is a more distinct and memorable name than satos. satos perhaps could be shifted into being a clan name or his father. Something of a familial nature.

I think that they manage to survive and further light the cavern.
satos meets this woman after the death of his friend in the wastelands, the middle aged woman who lost her family.

Having been with out any living contact for over a month, he is ecstatic to have found people in these deep recesses of the earth.
He takes in their presence like a rich scent. These people are full of high hopes, and though there is weariness about them, they bustle with life. The majority of his encounters with outsiders of the forest have gone sour, so he hides himself.
He unable to do this long, once he smells food on them. He waits until they pull out and raids the food. It’s almost been a month since he's eaten anything. He's sustained himself on fungi, sunlight and water till now. He doesn't eat there, so he takes as much as he can, though very we and runs back to be the moon and sun shine down, around where he fell. It isn't the first time he's nearly starved to death while in the wastelands, and since it's the first time he ate food in while, he knows he must be careful. He eats it slowly and sparingly, takes only nibbles and a time. He got really sick the first time and thought he would die. He survived, but only because of the tree.
During that time he remembers quite hissing whispers, the rustling of leaves and the beat of his heart.
You ate too much lost one. I’ll help you. Do that after being so hungry and you'll die next time with out me...
He’s careful and eats only a little bit. Hiding the rest from sight so he's not tempted. Tired from the exertion, he finds small spot in the sun hole where he won't easily be spotted and goes to sleep.
